Historical Exposition:

Kęty, which since the middle ages has been the craft centre, can be proud of a rich collection of historic relics related to guilds. The oldest document kept in the museum is a parchment manuscript with richly decorated rim from 1593. In this document the government of the town confirms the rights given to the bakers' guild. The next precious exhibit is the document issued by the Austrian Emperor - Francis II - confirming the rights and privileges of Kęty Town in 1793.
The Museum in Kęty possesses a splendid collection of guild books, the oldest of which are from the first half of the 17th century. Some of them come form the priest Grzegorz Jan Zdziewojski's foundation (he was a prebednary of the Holy Cross Church, which does not exist any longer) and are provided with his ex-libris. Among other displayed items connected with guilds you can find: the stamp pistons, guild crosses (butchers' from 1861 and tailors' from 1912), the 19th century wooden imitation of monstrance belonging to the tailors' guild, and guilds' chests from the 18th and 19th centuries. In the cabinet there are the following guilds' documents: correspondence, court files, etc. from the 17th and 18th centuries, and also the proclamation of the guild groups of the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria and the Princedom of Oświęcim and Zator issued in Lvov. The history of the craftsmanship in Kęty is concluded by museum pieces (related to the 19th- and 20th-century development of guilds and industrial plants) such as: patterns, documents, photos and diplomas.
The exhibition also contains cartographic collection. The oldest map among the four presented ones comes from the Ortelius' Atlas. It consists of three maps, namely: Pomerania, Inflant, and the Princedom of Oświęcim and Zator.

There is also a stone plate from 1851, which comes from the monument of St. John Cantius located at the market square. Some of the most precious museum pieces are: town cannons from 1777 with the town initials engraved; they were also known as the salute guns; and also a coat of arms made by an excellent carver - Stanisław Jarząbek at the beginning of the 20th century. The coat of arms was originally placed on the town hall.
